Open house at the farmhouse vacation rental

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

We decided at the last minute to hold an informal open house at the vacation rental yesterday and the response was pretty impressive. Dozens of folks wandered through the house and the comments were really positive. Rosalind and I sat on the front porch and read and answered people’s questions and enjoyed the fabulous weather. It looks like we’ll keep the farmhouse open to the public throughout the week so the public can see what is available.Farmhouse vacation rental at Purple Haze Lavender Farm

The season is in full swing!

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

This past week visitors have shown up at the farm in force! We’ve seen folks from across the globe this past week including many, many people from the far east including Japan, China, and India. All the States in the Union have been represented as droves of people are wandering our fields and picking lavender. Our custom made lavender flavors of ice cream are REALLY popular with this wonderful hot weather and staff members are running to keep up. All is good! The parking lot is overflowing!imgp0507.JPG

Cisco’s tv show

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Cisco Morris and Megan Black filmed their weekly tv show, “Gardening with Cisco”, at the farm yesterday. The weather was wonderful, the lavender was fragrant and all went well. The show will air on Saturday, July 19th at 10 am on KING 5  tv out of Seattle. We are really excited to see the final product.

We’re now only a week away from our annual Lavender Festival and anticipate that it will be bigger and better than ever. Our music venue for the festival is really a good one this year featuring 6 bands and headlined by Geoffrey Castle on his eclectic, electronic violin. imgp0498.JPG

U pick has started

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Several varieties of lavender are now in full bloom and U pick is in full swing at the farm. The fields are beautiful as per usual but because of our long, wet, cold spring are a little later than usual.imgp0494.JPG
