Our Vacation Rental: Why stay at a Farm?

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Did you know that Purple Haze Lavender has a most beautiful vacation rental house? Have you ever wanted to invite all your friends from Seattle up to beautiful Sequim? Or maybe you want to get away from it all with your friends, but you don’t want to deal with the cost of seven different hotel rooms? Our Sequim vacation rentals is the answer! We have lots of space, tons of amenities, and a scenic surrounding that is hard to beat.

When it comes to Washington Vacation Rentals, it is hard to imagine a more diverse location than here in the Dungeness Valley. Here in Sequim, you are 15 minutes from the sea and 10 minutes from the Dungeness river. Less than an hour away is Hurricane Ridge, which has amazing vistas and hiking trails as well as a snow park in the winter.

Whew! We made it another season.

Everything is now slowing down at the farm with only the weekends welcoming guests through the month. We are still busy on the weekends and are now offering FREE upick throughout the farm. There is LOTS of lavender still on the bush and while it’s past it’s prime, it is still fine for sachets and culinary uses.

We start shipping plants again on Oct 1 so orders should be made now if you want lavender plants for fall planting. All of the plants are 4″ and are shipped bare root..

Our distillation this year went really well and with our new giant distillation plant we reduced our manhours exponentially.

Roz and I will be turning over the day to day operation to our staff at the end of this month and heading to our house in Mulege, Mexico for the winter. We’re really excited about our new adventures down south.

We are now entering into a new partnership with Amazon.com so hopefully will be experiencing busy times in the near future.

Geoffrey Castle concerts cancelled

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Due to circumstances beyond our control the Geoffrey Castle concerts scheduled for August 23rd and 24th at our farm have been cancelled. It’s a shame because Geoff is SUCH a wonderful violinist and showman but it’s something that’s beyond our control.

Geoffrey Castle concert times at the farm

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Geoff Castle will play three mini concerts on both the 23rd and 24th of this month at our farm. He’ll be on stage at the south lawn and will play from noon to 1pm, 2-3pm, and 4-5pm both days. He’s got quite a following in this area so we expect crowds. A good idea would to bring a picnic lunch and your favorite beverages and spend the day listening to one of the worlds premier violinists as he rocks Purple Haze.

Still cutting!
