Creative Collection of Sequim Fiber Artists:
Unique As You- Renne Brock-Richmond of Unique As You creates colorful one of a kind handcrafted art, apparel, and textiles with individual style that is as distinct as yourself. Renne’s mission is to enhance people’s presence with asking, “What Hue Are You?” Her designs are original from inception with hand dyed yarn, to hand woven fabric made into apparel, and silk scarves with the distinguishing process of digitally printing with hand painting. No two are alike. Renne embraces the empowerment of brilliant hues and individualism expressed in appearance. www.uniqueasyou.com
Thistlehill Farm - Susan Kroll of Thistlehill Farm comes from a long line of working with your hands do-it-yourself-ers. She grew up sewing and knitting, then took up spinning her own yarn and weaving her own fabric once the nest was empty. Susan loves the systematic structure of knitting and weaving and the infinite choices for what to create made possible by exploring and combining different fibers, textures, colors, and weave structures. Each design is the simple and the functional: everything has to have a purpose and needs to work for that purpose. All the while being beautiful, too.
KJL Designs - Kathy Larson of KJL Designs began knitting when she arrived in Sequim 3-1/2 years ago, and is known as the "Scarf Lady" by her abundant production of scarves sold in local shops and bazaars. She started out with scarves, and has since added shawls, shrugs, wrist and leg warmers, and purses and bags to her collection of hand knit accessories. Kathy's talent is in combining different fibers and textures, along with color, creating unique, one-of-a-kind items. She does not duplicate any of her designs unless by custom order. Recently, Kathy took up beading and jewelry design as a complement to her knitting.
Fiber Treasures - Dixie McAndrews of Fiber Treasures draws inspiration from close fellowship with others and nature. She explores knitting, weaving, and felting techniques for transforming plant and animal fibers into decorative and useful textiles. Dixie feels that creating with the human hand helps to balance the mechanized and computerized world and allows her to create textiles that machines cannot produce. Her explorative nature often guides her beyond the traditional techniques and insures one-of-a-kind creations. In addition to quality construction, her creations are imbued with respect and joy that make them true Fiber Treasures to be used and loved forever.
Greenweave- Melissa Spaulding of Greenweave is passionate about wool – its texture, warmth, colors, versatility, and its “producer” – the ultimate in a renewable resource! Melissa surrounds herself with black sheep that often were unwanted, as commercial mills would turn down any fleece with even a stray black fiber that would show up as a flaw in any woven and dyed fabric. After marriage and children, she returned to weaving and spinning after many happy circumstances, connections, and discovers. For over 30 years, Melissa still watches new black lambs bouncing in the spring sunshine.
Essential Aura Oils - Kent McKay (www.essentialaura.com) will be doing essential oil distillation demonstrations each day of the festival. Kent is not only a master with distillation of lavender, but he has spent the winter in Costa Rica and can talk about distillation of many oils from more tropical clines. He'll bring his entire line of essential oils and hydrosols.
Fiddleheads-Fiddleheads is a home and garden shop in Port Angeles, WA. Vintage and garden accessories are tossed together in a Shabby Chic style. They dressed up our orchard nicely.

Jasmine Pearl Tea Merchants-The Jasmine Pearl Tea Merchants are tea blenders and importers based in Portland, Oregon. They hold events and trainings throughout the Pacific Northwest promoting their exceptional quality loose-leaf teas and herbal infusions. We worked with Chuck and Heather to make the wonderful new teas for Purple Haze!
John Tiechart Watercolors-With a detailed sensitivity to the forms in nature and building, John brings new life to his varied work. His understanding of natural subjects comes from his career with the National Park Service and U.S. Coast Guard.

She uses organic cotton and hemp fabrics - and wild-crafted herbs. She also makes those wonderful "Stress Balls" for us that have been so popular!
Lavender Skep - Ed and Winnona Giersch are Purple Haze's staunchest beekeepers and stitchers. They are the ones who supply us with the honey and hand sewn items we carry year 'round. They'll bring their selection of natural and flavor-infused honey and Nona's hand-sewn lavender creations to our Farm. Ed also be brought his observation hive and answered bee-keeping questions.
